EXCELLENT RATING FOR TREOS PINOT GRIS 2013
Treos 2013 Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on September 8, 2015
This trio of wine-loving couples began planting their 20-acre parcel near Monmouth, Ore., in 2007 and established their block of clone 152 Pinot Gris two years later. Lead winemaker Dave Jepson orchestrated the crop load for their first commercial bottling of Pinot Gris to come in at 1.5 tons per acre, yet it still shows abundant crispness. Aromas of fresh-cut Granny Smith, gooseberry, lime peel, alyssum and ScotchTape lead to a refreshing delivery of more Granny Smith and gooseberry. Ripe apricot and lemongrass appear in the finish.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 230 cases
Alcohol: 12.4%
