TREOS IS HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE ANOTHER FANTASTIC RATING FOR ITS WINES!
Treos Wines 2013 Estate Pinot Noir Elegant Reserve, Willamette Valley, $35
By Great Northwest Wine on March 28, 2017
Polk County winemaker Dave Jepson pulls from his group’s well-tended vineyard north of Corvallis, Ore., and his collection of Dijon clone Pinot Noir stands just east of the acclaimed 200-acre Domaine Loubejac planting. Jepson’s melange of five clones, cropped at less than 1-ton per acre, are influenced by a blend of French oak barrels from the Allier and Vosges forests, creating a range of aromas featuring blackberry and Sugarfina Finnska Red licorice with hay and nutmeg. Its easy-drinking structure hints of flavors of sweet black currant and plum juice amid raspberry tea tannins, cranberry, a pinch of dill and mist of orange oil. Suggested food options with this crowd-pleaser call for mildly savory dishes such as roasted chicken, lamb or duck.
